These General Terms and Conditions apply if you use the Sunrise app (the ‘app’) or Sunrise website (the ‘website’),, and also to all information, services, and deliveries we offer through the app or website (the ‘services’).

These are the terms and conditions of Sunrise Daily Goods B.V. (hereinafter referred to as ‘Sunrise’, ‘we’, ‘us’, and ‘our’), a company having its registered office at Karthuizersstraat 9D, Amsterdam. Sunrise is registered at the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 83772103.

These terms and conditions may be changed at any time. The new terms and conditions will take effect as soon as they have been made available online.

The Sunrise app

The Sunrise app can be obtained from either the Apple Store or Google Play. If you access the services via the app, then we grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right to install and use the app on a device that utilizes the Apple iOS or Android operating systems.

You may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, or decrypt the app. The app is only for individual use, and you may not use the app for any commercial purpose or other purpose for which it is not designed or intended.

Your use of the app must be in strict accordance with the terms and conditions. We reserve the right to deny your access to the app and use of the services without warning and for any reason, including for breaching the terms and conditions or any applicable law or regulation.

Your Sunrise account

To access the Sunrise app and make your first order, you must create a Sunrise account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for ensuring that the information you entered is correct and kept up-to-date, for instance if your contact info changes. Sunrise reserves the right to refuse or cancel any such account registration, for example in the event of irregularities.

Your login details are strictly personal and we will never share them. You are responsible for your own login details, and you are liable for activity that occurs on your Sunrise account. You should immediately notify us at [email protected] if you suspect that your login details are known by an unauthorized third party or in the event of irregularities.

You may not create or manage more than one account. Sunrise may terminate your account under certain conditions including but not limited to non-compliance with these terms and conditions, behavior that is deemed inappropriate, abusive, or illegal, or due to account inactivity. Additionally, you are not allowed to register or manage an account after we have denied your request to create an account or after we have terminated your account.


We offer products in the Sunrise app. You must be logged in to your account to view our offerings. Current prices and product information are stated on each product page.

Any obvious errors or mistakes in the offer are not binding for Sunrise. Additionally, product information listed in the app may not match the product information listed on the physical product packaging. For any such discrepancy, always refer to the information listed on the physical product packaging.


The price you pay for each product is the price listed on our app at the time you confirm your order. We will provide you an order confirmation that includes all price details including the VAT amount.

We occasionally offer promotional prices on products. These promotional prices are only valid if the offer is still active at the time you confirm the order. Additional conditions or limitations may apply to promotional prices, which will be stated in the app.

We have the right to adjust prices of our products at any time. Our current prices can always be found in the app. Prices indicated in the app are inclusive of VAT. Your order subtotal, VAT amount, and grand total can be found on your order confirmation.

We sell certain fresh products including fruits, vegetables, and baked goods that naturally vary in weight, so the amount you receive may differ from what’s stated in our app. We will do our best to maintain any variance to a reasonable level.

Minimum order amount

We currently do not enforce a minimum order amount, but we reserve the right to implement one without prior notice.


Certain products including our ‘Sunrise Circular’ glass jars and bottles may include a per-item deposit. Additionally, we are obligated to charge a deposit on certain third-party glass bottles and aluminum cans. The deposit amount is clearly listed on the product page and your order confirmation.

We are also legally obligated to charge a fee for tote bags, however, we treat this in the same manner as a deposit. Therefore, you will receive your deposit back upon returning your tote bags to us.

We are currently only able to accept returns of Sunrise Circular containers and tote bags. Given our size, we are unable to accept returns of third-party deposit bottles and cans. You can return these for a deposit at any local collection point.

To return your empty Sunrise Circular containers, simply place them in a Sunrise tote bag and hand it to the delivery person during your next delivery. Upon returning a Sunrise container or tote bag, we will refund the deposit to your account.


We do not charge any delivery fees or service charges. Your order total is simply the total of the items in your order plus any deposits.


Your order details in the Sunrise app constitute a final offer for the agreement to be concluded. The agreement is concluded with Sunrise when you confirm your order, at which point you enter into a payment obligation.

You may cancel or make changes to your order at any time prior to the order cutoff time. The order cutoff time is 11 pm the evening prior to the delivery day, unless otherwise noted. The order is locked at the cutoff time, and changes may not be made within the app. Our team may be able to make changes on your behalf after the cutoff time, but this is not guaranteed.

Your confirmed order details are provided within the order confirmation.


Within the Sunrise app you will be prompted to add a preferred payment method, such as iDEAL or credit card. After you confirm an order and upon order delivery, your designated payment method will automatically be charged.

If the payment does not succeed, we will contact you to troubleshoot the issue and to add a new payment method if required. You have the duty to inform us without delay of possible inaccuracies in the payment details that you provided.


With Sunrise, you have the ability to choose what delivery time works for you. During your account setup in the Sunrise app, you will be able to select your preferred weekly delivery slot(s) out of the available options. You can always modify your delivery slots later on.

We ask that you submit your order by 11:00 pm the evening prior to your scheduled delivery slot. Forgot to submit your order on time? Send us a message in the app, and we’ll do our best to help you out.

On the day of your delivery, we will notify you regarding your delivery timeline. We may provide you an ETA and/or a live tracking link so you can follow our delivery person live. We deliver some orders ourselves and some via our delivery partner.

We will do our best to deliver your order within your designated delivery time slot, however, we cannot guarantee 100% on-time delivery. We are not liable for deliveries that arrive outside the designated delivery time slot. We will notify you regarding any delivery that is delayed.

If you are not home when the delivery arrives, the delivery person will attempt to deliver your order to your neighbors. If this does not work, then the delivery person will take your order back to the Sunrise facility. Please contact us and we will do our best to arrange an alternate delivery.

Available delivery slots are based on your delivery address and are subject to change. We will notify you if one of your preferred delivery slots becomes unavailable for any reason.


Have you received a product that you no longer want? You have the option of returning the product to Sunrise within 14 days of delivery. We accept returns only for unopened and unused products.

We do not accept returns for opened, used, or damaged products. Due to health or hygiene concerns, we are unable to accept returns for certain products when the seal is broken. Additionally, we are unable to accept returns for perishable products or products with a limited durability, such as fruit, vegetables, fresh herbs, flowers, fresh-baked goods, and frozen foods.

If you have a product you are not happy with, please contact our service team by messaging in the Sunrise app. We will work with you to find the best solution, even if it’s for products we can’t accept a return for.

Our delivery person will pick up your product(s) for return during your next delivery, at no cost to you. You also have the option to return the product yourself, however, you will bear the direct costs of returning the product if you do so.

After we receive the returned product in good condition, we will reimburse you using the payment method that you used for the original purchase, unless you consent to another method.

Alcoholic products

To create a Sunrise account and place orders through the Sunrise app, you must be 18 years of age or older. If you order alcoholic products, our delivery person may ask to check your ID. This applies to any customer who appears up to 25 years of age, at the discretion of the delivery person.

If you are not 18 years of age or older, our delivery person is not allowed to drop off any alcoholic products in your order. Additionally, if you are not home to receive the delivery, we are unable to leave the alcoholic products with your neighbors. In either of these situations, the delivery person will take the alcoholic products back to the Sunrise facility. Please contact us if this occurs.

AI services

A component of the Sunrise service is our AI chatbot (‘Sunrise AI’). Within the chat screen of the Sunrise app, you may provide natural language input to be processed by Sunrise AI and receive output generated and returned by Sunrise AI. You are responsible for ensuring that your input does not violate our terms and conditions, any applicable law, or the policies of our third-party AI providers including but not limited to OpenAI.

By using the services in the Sunrise app, you consent to the processing of your inputs by Sunrise AI and our AI providers, including but not limited to OpenAI. If you actively provide personal data within your chat inputs, you instruct us to process this personal data in accordance with our Privacy Statement.

You accept that due to the nature of AI, machine learning, and natural language processing technologies, the outputs returned by Sunrise AI may be wrong and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Sunrise. Sunrise is not liable for any misrepresentations from Sunrise AI, nor for any actions taken based on the output from Sunrise AI.

Please note that while Sunrise AI may provide suggestions, you always have to make the final decision. No automated decisions are made on your behalf.


If you have an issue that has not been resolved, you can send a message within the Sunrise app or you can send an email to [email protected].

We will respond to your complaint within a period of 7 days after the date of receipt.

Privacy and security

Sunrise respects your privacy. We treat and process all personal data in accordance with the applicable legislation, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’).

We do our best to protect our website and to ensure that it is virus-free, but we can't guarantee that. Our website contains links to third party websites, and we have no influence on the content and functioning of these websites.

Intellectual property rights

Our app, website and services are protected by intellectual property rights. This includes our logos, images, software, texts, videos and other parts of our app, website and services. It is not permitted to use or share these materials without our written permission. This also applies to disclosing, publishing, reproducing, copying, or editing these materials. All intellectual property rights are held by Sunrise or by third parties from whom we license the materials.

Other terms

Force majeure. Sunrise and the customer (you) are not obliged to fulfill any obligation, if they are prevented from doing so due to a circumstance not attributable to fault and which is not regarded as their responsibility, nor by virtue of the law, a legal action or a generally accepted notion.

Waiver and severability. Failure by either party to exercise or enforce any provision of the agreement shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any part of the agreement is found to be unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions will not be affected.

Governing law. These terms and conditions and the agreement between you and Sunrise shall be governed by the laws of The Netherlands.
